Details

The CM-2206-20 Racing Edition Motor was designed from the ground up to be the ultimate power source for 250mm FPV Racing Quads running on 4-cell Li-Po power! With 6x4.5 props attached, a set of four of these motors will produce 10 pounds of static thrust for blistering acceleration and incredible top end speeds.

The Cobra CM-2206 series motors have a 3.0mm motor shaft for extra strength, as well as oversize ball bearings to support the shaft and provide a long life. The stators are made with 0.20mm laminations for maximum efficiency and minimum Eddy Current losses. Since these motors are typically soldered directly to the speed controller to save weight, the 2206 motors come without bullet connectors and feature extended pre-tinned motor leads that are 10 inches (254mm) long. These motors also have 3mm threaded holes in a 16x19mm pattern on the back plate for easy installation on your model.

The CM-2206 series motors feature an integrated 5mm threaded motor shaft which eliminates the chance of having a prop adapter spin off in flight. The included prop washer and nylon insert prop nut provides a solid attachment for your propellers that will not loosen up and slip during use.

Included with every Cobra CM-2206 Series Motor is a complete accessory package which contains the following items:

  Propeller Chart Color Code Explanation        
                               
     The prop is to small to get good performance from the motor. (Less than 50% power)            
                               
     The prop is sized right to get good power from the motor. (50 to 80% power)            
                               
     The prop can be used, but full throttle should be kept to short bursts. (80 to 100% power)            
                               
     The prop is too big for the motor and should not be used. (Over 100% power)            
                               
                               
  PLEASE NOTE:                          
  The Data contained in this Prop Chart is based on actual measurements, taken in a controlled test environment, at an altitude of        
  512 feet above sea level.  The test voltages used are based on the standard output of a Li-Po battery under load, which is 3.70 volts        
  per cell.  If you are using a battery that is larger in capacity than normal, or has a very high C-rating, then your actual voltages will        
  be higher than those shown in the chart, and this will result in a higher current and power value for every prop used.  You should        
  always test your actual power system with a watt meter before flying your model to make sure that you are not exceeding the         
  recommended current and power ratings of the motor being used.  The prop recommendations in this chart assume that the motor        
  receives adequate cooling throughout its operation.  If your motor is being used inside a cowl or fuselage, you must ensure that        
  the motor receives sufficient airflow, and does not get too hot during operation.  It is always best to use a prop size that pulls no        
  more than 80% of the motors maximum recommended current value to ensure safe operation under all conditions.

The following downloadable PDF files show the performance data curves of the Cobra CM-2206/20 motor, over its entire throttle range, with a variety of propellers. These graphs can be downloaded and printed to use as a reference for calculating power requirements at specific thrust levels, and enable the user to calculate flight times, current draw and other motor parameters.
